Interesting fact about "Dozorny" camp
The construction of buildings and structures of the "Dozorny" began in the summer of 1971 according to the project of the architects M.L. Fainberg, O.N. Radeeva and S.V. Borisova. The first memorable brick in the foundation of the camp was beaten by fighters of the Kuban Medical Institute. We built an outpost in difficult conditions, piles were worn on the mountain by hand, trying to preserve the natural nature of the reserved places as much as possible.
The border guards took an active part in equipping and equipping the outposts. From Gudauda (Sukhumi frontier ranks) they brought a border tower, where they established communications facilities, monitoring the offshore section of the border and a radio station to provide communication with neighboring border outposts. May 18, 1972, the solemn opening of the first change of the camp "Sentinel" took place, which united boys and girls from all over the Soviet Union: those who worked in the clubs of young frontier guards were carried away by the romantic service of people in green uniforms, wanted to master the skills of the border service.
On the opening day, representatives of the Novorossiysk border detachment and neighboring units arrived. In their presence, in accordance with Order No. 5 on military unit No. 2156 of the troops of the Red Banner Transcaucasian Border District of the KGB attached to the Council of Ministers of the USSR, on May 14, 1972, the Red Banner was handed over to the children's frontier post, which was handed to Lieutenant Colonel P.N. Belov. Already in 1973, the outpost "Sentinel" was the organizer of the Fifth Final of the All-Union military sports game "Zarnitsa".
In the following years, there were six meetings of the Southern Federal District "Youth of the Border", All-Russian assemblies of teenage clubs of the landing profile, and collections of search teams. Continuing the traditions laid down in the first years of the camp's activity, the "Dozorniy" is still in full combat readiness at the "Orlyonok" border.
