The Day started with the thematic line up during which the participants learned about the history of both Days. Then the camp counsellors took part in the dictation «Multinational Russia» dedicated to the culture of peoples living in Russia. During the workshop «Amazing China» they tried themselves at calligraphy and pronunciation of Chinese words, and at the «Linguistic Animation» they got to know the game methods of learning foreign languages.

Preserving the cultural diversity is necessary for the development of the modern society. Today, together with the whole world, «Orlyonok» celebrates this Day that allows us to deeply understand the value of cultural differences and strengthen cooperation between people. Our Centre welcomes children from all the parts of our country and around the world every year — they exchange knowledge on their national traditions and languages and create strong relations that will become the basis for proper intercultural dialogue in the future.

Also the participants took part in the «Intellectual cookery» game where they created a national cuisine restaurant, in the meeting «Culture of my people», learned the traditions of Russian tea ceremony and crafted ceramic tea pots, invitations in the pop-up technique, thermal cover for tea cups, decorated cup holders and other tea ceremony accessories.

«Our goal today is to help the educators see how every person is a bearer of a unique culture. This is why it is so important to cultivate the acceptance of different cultures and traditions of people of Russia. And the older generations are the main source of knowledge of cultural diversity in our country. We hope that all educators will be able to discover something new today and have a good time», said Karina Vozniuk, chief of the international activity implementation division, Orlyonok International Department.

In the evening several artistic events with singing, dancing and games dedicated to the peoples of the world were conducted at the Centre. In the end all the participants exchanged their thoughts and emotions about the Day and planted flowers together.
